Monarchs Sign Oklahoma State Pitcher & Catcher

The Monarchs have signed two Cowboys for the upcoming season, Right-handed pitcher Logan Brunkenhoefer and Catcher Eric Walker. Brunkenhoefer will be a true freshman for OK state this year where as his teammate Walker is a former junior college player entering his Junior year, second for OSU.

Three Broncos To Join Monarchs

Brooks Beilke, Mike Moyer and Jack Scanlon will go from Kalamazoo to Adrian, Michigan to play with Monarchs this summer. Jack Scanlon a sophomore outfielder for WMU, played in 25 games with 20 starts and hit .237 with 2HR and 9 RBI's as a freshman last season. At Jension HS in Jension, Michigan, Scanlon was a three sport athlete in football, hockey and baseball.  In baseball, Scanlon was named to the all-conference and all-district teams and was on the all-state dream team in 2008 where we played in the East Vs. All-star game.

Trio Of Chippewas To Play For Monarchs

Adrian, Mich. -- The Monarchs have signed three players from Central Michigan University in Chris Savas (IF), Josh Cok (LHP), and Reid Rooney (RHP/IF).

Savas is a 6 foot infielder coming off his freshman season with the Chippewas. He is a graduate of Willowbrook H.S. in Villa Park, Ill. He was an all-conference selection in high school for the 2008 season.

Fighting Illini Send Two To Lake Erie

The Monarchs signed two members of the University of Illinois baseball team recently in Bill Charvat and Tanner Libby.

Charvat is a redshit freshman this spring. Last summer, he played for the Crystal Lake Cardinals of the Chicago Suburban Baseball League, where he helped Crystal Lake to a franchise-best 51-15 record and a Metro Collegiate League title. The team also won the 2009 National Amateur Baseball Federation College World Series in Toledo, Ohio.

 

He hails from Elk Grove Village, Illinois. The lefty swinging 1B/3B went to Conant H.S. where he helped lead his team to a regional title in 2007. During his senior year, Charvat was named All-Area and All-Mid Suburban Conference, and he was named Conant's top athlete in the class of 2008 by the Arlington Heights Daily Herald. During his time in high school, the mechanical engineering major earned the Richard C. Kolze Academic Award, Conant's highest academic award.

Monarchs Sign Two Cornhuskers

The Monarchs have added an infielder and a pitcher from the University of Nebraska with the additions of Dylan Vogt and Kurt Farmer.

Vogt comes to the Monarchs following his freshman year at Nebraska, where he put an emphasis on pitching. He has good size and velocity, along with a slider.
