Monarchs Sign Three From Penn State |

Adrian, MI -- The Lake Erie Monarchs signed three Nittany Lions from Penn State this past week. Leading the Pennsylvania group, returnee Ryan Clark played in 42 games for the Monarchs in 2009. Clark, a Westerville, Ohio native went to St. Francis DeSales High School where he also shined on the gridiron, earning special mention on the All-Ohio team. Clark is a sophomore outfielder for Penn State. Ryan Ignas has signed on to pitch for the Monarchs. Ignas, a sophomore right handed pitcher, played at Lansdale Catholic High School in North Wales, Pennsylvania. He threw 39 innings for Penn State in 2009 compiling a 5-1 record in 22 appearances.
Rounding out the trio from Happy Valley is Elliot Searer, a redshirt freshman infielder. The Lewiston, Pennsylvania native was a three year starting shortstop and guided his high school team to a final eight appearance his senior year. Searer was voted the best basketball player in his County and amassed 1,115 points in his 4 years at Lewiston High School. |
